Now in its tenth year, MONOTHON2008 returns to the Center for Contemporary Printmaking with a whirlwind of creative activity. For eight days in November, this marathon of monotype printmaking provides artists the opportunity to work with Master Printers in intensive, five-hour sessions to create original monotypes.
As always, MONOTHON2008 will culminate in an exhibition of selected montoypes to be auctioned to benefit CCP at the ever-popular Auction & Party. We're delighted to announce that Guy Bennett, Head of Impressionist & Modern Art, Christie's, New York, will return to lead the live auction.

International Artist-in-Residence: Russian Printmaker Comes to CCP
In September, CCP welcomes International Artist-in-Residence, Vladimir Zuev, for a residency at the Helen Frankenthaler Printmaking Cottage. Sponsored by a generous grant from the Jeniam Foundation, the residency program offers an international printmaker of renown the opportunity to pursue printmaking projects. Mr. Zuev will spend two weeks at CCP and , as part of the residency, will share his creative insights in programs to area high-school students. He will offer an overview of his residency to CCP members and friends on Thursday, September 25, from 7 to 9 pm. The program is free and open to all.
Mr. Zuev is from Nizhny Tagil, in the Ural Mountains of Siberia. Growing up in the Soviet Union in what was then a remote province, Mr. Zeuv had little access to art, and as a child he taught himself by looking at reproductions of master pieces in a book. He subsequently graduated from a Graphic Arts Faculty and went on to become a highly regarded printmaker, the winner of numerous awards, whose work is widely exhibited and collected. He still lives in Nizhny Tagil, where he maintains a studio and teaches drawing and graphics.

Mystery Artist Redux
Members of CCP's Editions Club are once again in the dark. Another Mystery Artist has been selected to produce an edition of prints exclusively for members of the club. The identity of the artist will be brought to light only at a reception on Thursday, October 23, when the print will be unveiled.
This year's artist exhibits regularly in New York and is featured in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Morgan Library & Museum. The artist has received numerous accolades, including many grants and fellowships. A distinguished member of the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the artist lives and works in New York.
In 2007, Editions Club members were delighted with Donald Sultan's print Black and Blues. A few subscriptions to the Editions Club are available. Please contact CCP for information.
